Director of Sales

Entercom Charlotte, a family-owned company, has a rare opening for a Director of Sales for WBT AM-FM and WLNK FM Radio in Charlotte, NC. The right candidate must possess a strong desire to win, lead by example, and have a track record of revenue success. The Director of Sales must have a strong background in running successful stations. Candidate must be an exceptional sales trainer, be a creative thinker, and be able to recruit and hire the best in the business.

Primary responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of the sales operation;
Implementation and compliance with CRM tool;
Set rates through yield management tool;
Meet or exceed all revenue goals;
Work as a coach, leader and problem solver.
Understand the digital space and present a specific plan for its growth.
Minimum requirements:
Candidate must be creative and possess an ability for generating local direct business;
Four year college degree preferred;
Three to five years’ experience in radio sales management, preferably in a cluster or multi-station group;
Can demonstrate a proven track record out-performing the market as reflected in the Miller Kaplan Report on a consistent basis.

Qualifications:

Experienced in B2B sales (media preferred)
Creative problem solver with marketing as well as sales expertise
Ability to develop new business and manage sales with a proven track record of exceeding goals
Thorough understanding of advertising technologies including digital, audio, and interactive
A creative mind to put together unique advertising campaigns
Must have a valid driver’s license and own a personal car
A passion for uncovering a client’s need, solving it, and closing the deal!

Board Operator/Producer

We have an opening for board ops with experience operating radio-broadcasting console and/or producing an on-air show preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The part-time board operator/producer will be responsible for running and maintaining a precise broadcast at all times. Accurate board work with in-studio and network programming is the main responsibility.
Candidate must be able to read and accurately interpret station traffic logs.
Board-op/producers will be responsible for communicating with the program director, executive producer or broadcast engineers when opportunities or challenges are observed during his/her shift.
Monitor and utilize digital and social media assets for breaking sports news and show promotion.
In addition to board-op and producer duties, candidates will have an opportunity to serve as a sports update anchor, field reporter and production assistant.

Qualifications:

Familiarity with computers and digital broadcast equipment is required.
On-air experience and the ability to craft an on-point sports news update is preferred.
Proficiency with Pro Tools and/or Adobe Audition production systems is preferred.
Board-op/producers will need basic phone skills to help contact guests and answer listener calls.
Social media skills are preferred.
Flexibility of schedule is a must.

Promotions Assistants – Part-Time

We are looking for Part Time Promotions Assistants to manage all aspects of station appearances, functions, and occasional live broadcasts. The ideal candidate(s) should be outgoing, presentable, able to think on his/her feet, punctual, and friendly. Hours will vary greatly from week to week; flexibility in schedule is a must. Hours could include, but are not limited to weekdays, early mornings, nights, holidays and weekends. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and physical ability to carry and lift up to 50 pounds of portable equipment is required. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age or older. Ability to drive larger vehicles like cargo vans, pickup trucks, and SUV's is a plus.
