We are looking for a dynamic Coordinating Producer who will serve in a hybrid role inside the newsroom – contributing to content development on all platforms. The Coordinating Producer will guide daily local news coverage with a strong focus on breaking news, directing crews, and following up on developing stories. They will also develop Digital Content Producer skills by contributing stories to our digital platforms. This role is central to the newsroom’s daily operations and is ideal for someone with sharp news judgment, strong organizational skills, and a passion for local storytelling across platforms. Additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily News Coverage: Plan and coordinate the station’s daily editorial focus, ensuring timely and thorough coverage of local and breaking news stories.
  • Directing Crews: Assign and manage field crews and other production resources for maximum efficiency and impact.
  • Following Up On Stories: Consistently and proactively make follow up calls and emails to sources, law enforcement, and community contacts to gather information, new updates, confirm facts, and develop leads for compelling stories.
  • Digital Content Development: Learn and support digital content creation, including writing and posting news stories, videos, and social media updates to expand our reach and engagement.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in TV news or a related field, with a track record of managing multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with newsroom and live production workflows.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred.
