| Description | North Carolina Public Radio WUNC is hiring a Daily News Editor. This is a new position. The Daily News Editor supervises and manages WUNC’s team of daily news reporters and producers. S/he assigns and edits daily news stories. S/he also reports daily news stories as needed. These include interviews, spots, quick-turn features, and digital stories. The Daily News Editor is part of the news leadership team and reports to the News Director. S/he will also be called in to assist in managing breaking news coverage. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a public media news room. A Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of journalism experience is required. A Master’s Degree and two years of management and supervisory experience is preferred. WUNC is headquartered in the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) of North Carolina. It’s often rated among the top areas to live in the country. The ocean and mountains are just a few hours away. North Carolina Public Radio serves more than 375,000 listeners weekly and was ranked Number 1 in the Raleigh Metro Market for adults 25+ in 2018. Salary and benefits are competitive.
